Etymology: Derived from the Chinese Pinyin of Luxi County, where the holotype was collected and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: terrestris LU & LIU, 2023
Etymology: The species name refers to the lifestyle of the specimen, which is terrestrial.

Holotype: HFUT SML-21-08-001

Locality: A quarry about 2 km east of Suomeiluo, Luxi County, Yunnan Province, SW China.

Horizon: Upper Member, Guanling Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Anisian Stage, Early Mid Traissic, Early Middle Triassic.

Material: An incomplete skeleton preserving most of the limbs, the proximal caudal vertebrae, and some elements of the pelvic girdle.
