Etymology: In reference to the settlement of Davletkulovo, Bashkirian ASSR, European Russia, near were the fossil was found.

Etymology: Latin, giganteus, "huge, gigantic."

Holotype: PIN 4311/1

Locality: Yaman Yushatyr Locality, Davletuklovo settlement, right bank of Yama-Yushatyr' River, Bashkirian ASSR, European Russia.

Horizon: Belebeiskava Svita.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper part of Upper Kazanian substage, Capitanian Stage, Upper Guadelupian Stage, Middle Zechstein Epoch, Late Middle Permian.

Material: Dentary bone with teeth.

Note: Reisz et al. (2002) suggest that because of its large size Davletkulovo may be a herbivorous dinocephalian, but Falconnet (2012) disagrees.
